Not in the 2nd round.
Taylor Lewan at 10! I would love Luke Joeckel at 10, but I don't see him on the board at 10. With the 39th pick, I want Ezekiel Ansah. I started a thread on him months ago. He would be great in the DE rotation.
Taylor Lewan is going back to school.
Thanks. I didn't know that.
Call me crazy all you want. Last Draft the Buffalo Bills were planning to take Russell Wilson in the 4th round. Really wanted him. But the Seahawks took him in the 3rd. Forget that draft prognostication crap. A good player is a good player. And the Honey Badger is a good player. Can help make up for the mistake of losing Courtland Finnegan. Would rather take him in the second than risk missing him.
Bring a bit of swagger back to this pack of losers
He's a 5'9 180 cornerback. Sure he plays big, but it's a little different when you get to the NFL. He's only 5'9, which is fine for a NB... guarding usually smaller slot receivers. But are you going to use a 2nd on a NB?
He was kicked off his team for weed. Joined a drug rehab program, withdrew.. and then got caught again. Were talking about a kid who threw everything away for weed? He was a Heisman candiate! Now I don't look down upon him for smoking, everybody does it... but you gotta be stupid to get caught twice in a year. He then said the pressure at LSU made him do it...
Now, he comes out and says that he was addicted and he's done smoking. Well of course he says that now, right before the draft. But after he gets paid, what will happen? People compare him to Janoris Jenkins, it's wayyyy different. Janoris had a great combine and was an elite shutdown corner. Tyrann was a NB who made a few big hits or a big play. Janoris shut down the ranks of AJ Green and Julio Jones.
I could see us using a late 3rd, comp pick on him. But a 2nd is cray.
I agree a 3rd round pick seems more in line with his troubles and skill set. He is similar in some ways to Finny but teams will shy from him early just because of his size. Add in the off field issues and he slips more. I'm not sure he is worth our 2nd round pick even without the off field issues considering some of the guys we will have to choose from. We should be able to get a borderline 1st round talent in this draft with that pick.
5'9", he don't care. He's the Honey Badger. He just takes what he wants!
Only an inch shorter than Courtland...... An inch taller than Bob Sanders, former defensive MVP. And why not use a second on an NB? NBs play more than an awful lot of starting linebackers. Look at how often teams come out with multiple receivers.
And he didn't withdraw from a rehab program. He was laughed out by the real drug adicts. Getting caught with weed does not warrent rehab. Are you kidding me? Weed? Not heroin, a drug that kills people and is physically adictive but weed. A drug that makes you laugh and crave junk food.
He probably felt ashamed being in there for weed. What a joke. Good lord.
Finnegan is 5'10 188
Sanders is 5'8 206
Sanders may be shorter, but he's got 30 pounds on him.
He was given a 2nd round grade when he was a heisman contender. I seriously doubt with all the character issues he'd still get that grade.
