Wimbley only played something like.. 6 snaps on defense yesterday. This was our prized free agent of the 2011 offseason mind you. Isn't he making something like 30 Million over 5 years? If he doesn't get it together pronto, he can restructure or GTFO. Looks like we need to draft another DE this year..

I don't see it. Stewart is still under contact for next year. He's good enough, unlike our current starting ends and CB depth. I wouldn't be shocked though.

We have $110.6M already tied up in 2014, somebody's getting axed. Stew could be one.

CJ's contract is getting more and more expensive by the year :disappointed:

ATV's contract is also expiring, and he'll want some more moolah for the way he's been playing. Decisions, decisions.

Wimbley is gone, 5th highest paid player next year. Set for $7.8m cap hit.
Stevens is gone, 9th highest paid player next year. Set for $4.4m cap hit.

There's $12.2 mil we'd free up. Stewart is set to make $6.4, so it wouldn't shock me. We still have the signings of Sammie Lee Hill and Shonn Greene holding us down for $7.3 million. Books are still open on those two.

Verner, Pollard, Damian, Pitoitua, & Britt are all FAs next year. Britt is gone. I can see TN having faith it our young guys and letter Verner walk. I like Damian, but can't overpay him. Pollard & Pito need new contracts.

I agree that Wimbley, Stevens, and Britt won't be coming back.

I think letting Stewart walk might be a good idea for cap reasons and because we're gonna have to find a replacement for him in the near future regardless.

I also think we should let Damian walk. I like him, but I'd be very confident fielding Washington, Wright, Hunter, and Preston.

We need to bring back Pollard and Pitoitua. Verner is a toss-up in my mind. Depends on whether he can keep up what I consider a very satisfactory performance thus far in 2013. If we're not going to resign him, we have to go CB in FA or the first two rounds because I don't see Blidi or TC stepping in for him without a significant drop off.

I think our priorities in FA and the draft will have to be DL (best available between DE and DT), CB (if Verner's gone), and OT.

Stevens is worth keeping, so IDK that he's gone, he knows 3 jobs, he has value.

Plus if Walker misses time with his foot injury Stevens can step in.

Morgan had a quiet game yesterday but by no means should anyone be saying his name in the same sentence as Wimbley. Kam barely played and is a non-factor right now. He's gone at the end of this season. Morgan is a nice little player man.

Why so much leash for a guy who's been a first round bust? He's a C+ DE. Don't feed me that 'good at getting pressure, not sacks, tough against the run' jive either. He's a mediocre player who gets taken out of games by decent T/G combos. Wimbley is a pure pass rusher at this point.

Youre not qualified to discus DE's anymore. Morgan is a great player.
