Tyler Wilson was a 4th rnd pick last year to the Raiders. Who knows what really happened in Oakland for him to get his pink slip so soon.

Wilson was a solid QB in the SEC. 62.6% completion rate with a decent 8.2 yds per attempt. He threw 52 TDs to 26 INTs and had a QB rating of 144.

So where would he fit in this draft class? Because if you think he is similar to what is available when you feel the value is right for a QB then no need to take a QB.

Obviously, the fa thinks we do, or we wouldn't have had visits with so many.

Just bringing it up because he seems to be a forgotten man. He wasn't some total slacker in college. It very well could shake out that we don't want to take a QB in the 1st and then another player at another position falls to us in the 2nd and the value is just too great to pass up. Then by the 4th rnd the guys we like are gone.

People will be up in arms that we didn't reach for a QB in the 2nd. IMO if the value isn't their then don't reach. We do have a young 4th rnd pick on our roster already.

He'd probably be projected 3rd-4th, somewhere around Mettenbergers grade.

luckily we get the benefit of knowing that he will likely never be an NFL starter, and don't have to waste the draft pick.

The benefit of having the draft pick, is that you could get someone with tremendous upside. Wilson doesn't seem to have that.. being hardly able to crack 2nd string on the Raiders.

But.. if you're looking for a starter in the 4th round at QB.. your chances are incredibly slim, anyway.

I doubt Wilson will be on the roster, week 1.
If so.. it'll probably be as a 3rd stringer.

Lets make this easy on people, judge for yourselves what Tyler Wilson is. Looks like Derek Carr.

Go do a search on why he got cut after being a mid round selection. Apparently dude knows next to nothing about how to read a defense. The guy was touted as a solid prospect with possible starting potential and then IMMEDIATELY got covered up on the depth chart by two scrubs.

Which makes it worse. I'd have a hard time believing they just threw a pick away without first giving the kid a shot. He flunked out bro. It happens.

I just don't trust the Raiders in any of their decision making. They haven't shown they can make good decisions for years.
