I'm not the biggest Casey fan in the world, but at the end of the day he is the #2 passer in terms of yards in UT history...behind Peyton. So I think he did ok. Who would you suggest they should have played beyond Casey. The idea that they played Casey just to get Jimmy is asinine at best.

Not sure. There had to be someone better. Casey was terrible. Not even on Ainge's level.

I heard an Alabama Insurance Agent Western Unioned $2,500 to Jimmy Clausen when he was in 8th grade.

Casey Clausen was a punk and he had lots of big shoes to fill. He was a good college quarterback, though. To say he was terrible is simply not true. He was 14-1 career on the road. He was 3-1 against Bama. He was 2-1 against the Gators. Unlike Manning, the kid would fight for yards, get nailed by a linebacker and then jump right back up and play.

I have followed the Orange for my entire life and some of my greatest UT memories were with Casey under center. He brought intangibles and confidence that resulted in wins. You can't argue with the record.
