troupe vs. witten

    You can't compare Witten's stats from last year. Two reasons why....

    1)Rob Petitti (RT)

    2)Torrin Tucker (LT)

    Rob Petitti was a 2005 6th round pick that was forced into the starting role when our former 2003 2nd round pick Jacob Rogers was a baby and couldn't get over an injury, so we had to cut him.

    Torrin Tucker was a crappy turn-stile LT that is currently without a job. Tucker was forced to play when our pro-bowl LT Flozell Adams' season was cut short.

    Because of the two of them playing, Jason Witten was forced to stay home much more than usual because he was needed as an extra blocker.

    Let's use 2004...

    2004 Witten: 16 games, 87 catches, 980 yds, 6 tds
    2005 Troupe: 15 games, 55 catches, 530 yds, and 4 td's

    utterly ridiculous use of stats.

    Gee lets use stats the benefit the arguement no matter how long ago it was.

    Troupe was a back up in 2005 for the most part.

    Maybe we'll next compare Kerry Collins in 2000 vs Drew Bledsoe in 2003 :rolleyes:

    troupe is definately a lot more athelitic than witten and is much better, the only reason IMO that witten's stats are better is 1 hes been a starter due to lack of TE competition, and 2 his qb can actually get him the ball, and having the 11th most receptions in nfl history doesnt mean crap, it just means he got the ball thrown to him alot

    Maybe the few tips he's had that got int'd make them more memorable, but I don't think Troupe drops a lot of passes.
