I like the Whiz hire and I don't mind this guy for OC. From the article, he's been presenting game plans to San Diego's offense and integral. I'll take this Whiz and this guy over Munch and Loggains any day.

I like the hire because he won't be calling the plays... He's a young guy who can learn a lot from Whisenhunt and maybe one day become a good coach. Who knows.

To be fair there are some good plays in Madden... but they are too simple. Always hot routing.

 

He's just making fun of those of us who have used that phrase before...

I think execution has a lot more to do with how a play works or not. Talent differential. Putting aces in their places to succeed. Match ups. All that is way more important than the routes ran. The difference is you play to the defense once the game is going.

"Lots of cover one man... Let's stretch em and work under..."

"Lots of zone blitzes.... Hot routes and sit downs in the holes"

"Off man 2 deep... Let's work the WR screens and wide runs"

90% of the offense should be interchangeable "pieces" that can be put together in any format to beat whatever the defense is doing.

Not... "Well we are going to run this levels play and see what happens"
