It doesn't matter. Unless Mariota came out with 3 long passes ending with a TD and Tannehill threw 6 INTs.....these arguments from a faction of people here were going to happen.
1st (and only) drive vs 1st drive - completions and movement vs 3 and out.
Ryan T is a good QB....he should be, as a former starter. Glad we have him.

Lol it could of been a real possibility especially because he had a big drop from Taylor in that first series. Another series probably could of helped him get into a rhythm. It’s not like he’s incompetent and not capable of doing it. C’mon JR you are tryin hard as hell to be somewhat fair to Mary but you just can’t help yourself lol.

Mariota had a drop from Jennings because he floated the ball out of bounds . If he had thrown a better ball, it likely would have been caught.

Vrabel got his 1st preseason win last night which I didn’t know. Forgot that the Titans last year went 0-4 and never put up more than 17 points. I know it’s preseason and means absolutely nothing but I’m sure to the coaches and staff it’s gotta feel good to start off with a win.

I’m sorry man, I can’t...5 years in, he needs to be better. I know I’m being critical and hard on him, but it’s chit or get off the pot time. I need to see more brother.

Jennings was the guy, mixed up those two. Better ball? sure. but the ball was definitely playable. No different than Taylor’s drop from Tanne. If he threw it out ahead of him probably would of made it easier for him to catch which Tanne admitted. Both balls were catchable.

Mary's mechanics are just so bad. There was a throw last night to Humphries where he didn't step into it at all, just kinda flicked his wrist. He's always had bad footwork, but it's like he doesn't even try to fix it - or if he does try to fix it, he reverts back to his bad habits when the pressure is on.

You are not wrong here. Of course it is **** or get off the pot time. Very few here would disagree. But to take one drive in the first preseason game as and indicator of anything is just ridiculous. Did MM look uncomfortable? Maybe. But he has looked comfortable many times in the past, has had huge games, etc. We have all seen it. The issue is consistency and staying healthy. This is his last year to show both—so I will let things play out more than one preseason drive before I start calling for a change.

Did Jennings drop the ball, or did they rule he didn’t get both feet down? Either way, he caught the ball, then hit the ground. Taylor let the ball hit him in the chest and didn’t even use his hands. Definitely different situations.

Just went back and watched. Tannehill looks like a real NFL QB. Entirely different throwing than Mariota. No floating. Has touch.

Said it before, and I know the team has to see what Mariota has-- but I fully expect him to replace MM by about week 5.

The boo-birds will be out if Mary plays like last year and with a capable backup, the team will be forced to play RT.
