I couldn't agree more. Game in and game out, regardless of who we played, our DBs played the softest coverage I've ever seen. Finnegan, a guy known for his man to man skills, was lining up 5-8 yards off of receivers. It was absurd, and they never adjusted it. I'm looking forward to our new defensive look more then anything this year. Hell, we could have an all star squad. It's not likely, but the way they were mismanaged the last two years, it's hard to tell if guys are bad or just out of position on every play.

I liked Fisher until this past interview he did on NFL Network. I don't how many of you watched it, but he was babbling on about how near the end of his tenure he was doing very little film study. I know it was obvious, we were running the same plays over and over again. But, for him to admit it is even worse. He couldn't notch it up to lack of awareness, he was just being content.

He may end up finding success elsewhere, because he may finally stop being stubborn scheme-wise. Everyone knows he's amazing at motivating the players, talking to them on their level. But, he was never going to find success here, he got unnecessarily comfortable.

fish face had too go for the multiple seasons of Nick Harper alone.

how many uselsss 'starters' were finally not resigned that never played another NFL snap?

fish faces man-love with his buds was reason enough to see him gone.

Fisher has always sucked. His playcalling killed the team more than it ever helped.

Put any other coach heading our team in that Super Bowl in 99, and I bet we win by 2 scores.

Interesting speculation. Fisher was the coach of the best team in the NFL for 4 years with an above average QB, an above average RB, and a very good defense. The dude gets credit for that. He just got complacent when his buddies Steve and Eddie weren't on the team anymore. It all started unraveling in 04...

Don't forget about 2008.We should've won it all.We let it slip away....

FWIW,a few saved fumbles, botched kicks, dropped balls from literally having at least two more super bowls in different seasons especially 2000 and 2008

Is it a loss of respect or confidence? Players want to be confident that the coaches are putting them in the best position to succeed on any play. Cecil's defense created more confusion among our players than the opposition and when it doesn't work they can't help but notice.

Fisher might have been an average coach who at times wasn't always confident in his team or supremely motivated but extreme comments about him being a terrible coach just don't wash. His record says otherwise.

Does GoT and duece honestly believe that we had super bowl caliber talent in 96, 97, 98, 06, 09? We were 8-8 and guess what, those teams had average talent. In the years we won we had great talent and Fisher got great results.

Seems to me that the team usually played at the level of the talent we had which does not indicate that Fisher was not a bad coach just an average one.

We draft Randy Moss in 98 instead of Dyson and fisher might have 2-3 SB rings right now and be HOF bound. That was our weakness in 99, 2000, 2008. Our Wrs were 2nd rate.
