I can't take it seriously. I've enjoyed watching the Celtics back on the court and seeing some really good games so far but it's almost like it's not even real. It seems like everyday there are players going down with injuries and you've got some teams getting so worn out over their schedule they're putting up 70 points or even less in a single game. On top of that you have these big name players all wanting to play with each other which pisses me off, why can't you actually just compete and actually want to be known as the best player instead of joining everyone? The NBA is becoming soft and is more about entertainment than competition. I'm still going to watch it more than ever because I'm a huge basketball fan but this kind of stuff just gets on my nerves. Hopefully all this dream team, lob city, etc crap dies down a bit and we can get back to some competition instead of players looking after their brand more than their court performance. Oh Celtics actually looked impressive tonight, there is hope. I also think it would be pretty awesome if they ended up with Austin Rivers in the draft.
The NBA needs to seriously look at contraction. There are probably eight teams that could be done away with without anyone noticing and the talent level wouldn't be as watered down.
I think the NBA season should be around 50 games, and 12 teams make the playoffs, not 16. And they should also change back the first round format to best out of 5 like it was in the 90's.
Yeah because all 3 were best buddies before and all wanted to play with each other, after they won the title then everyone else wanted to do it.
I'm having a hard time getting excited about this NBA season. I don't think I respect the NBA much. It seems like you could put together a basketball league overnight.
Speaking of the Dream Team, all Miami needed was a decent center to be crowned champions, and yet they didn't go after a center lol. Also, Spoels is a good young coach, but not for a team like Miami, he seems intimidated by the egos and seems like he's on the verge of losing the locker room after every loss. This will probably by OKC's year. I think they should look into picking up Kenyon Martin, they're going to need some kind of offensive threat in the post in the playoffs, and a big that can spread the floor will do wonders. Ibaka and Perkins don't need to be guarded so that's extra defense on Durant. And with Eric Maynor out for the year, who's actually more important to that team than people think, I dare say maybe even pick up Gilbert Arenas...Outside Westbrook/Durant/Harden, they literally have no other scorers, so yeah...
