No maybe about it. They would be beasts. If CJ can manage that many yards as a backup with Geno as his QB and if Britt can manage that many yards with 3rd and 2nd string QB's, imagine what they both could do with Peyton. Cook would have been just as good as Julius Thomas is for Denver.

Actually, I do believe Peyton could still take a team the distance. But the thing is, with or without PM, this team is still at least 2 years away from REALLY competing for a championship. And I'd be absolutely shocked if PM has more than one good season left in him. Age catches up to everyone eventually. And he's going to be 39 in two months.

I think it'd be a great situation for Mett. It makes a lot of sense from the Titans perspective. Thing is, it makes absolutely zero sense from Manning's perspective. No way he comes to a team this freaking terrible and behind the 8-ball.

 

I agree with this....my support for Manning would be not so much as a player, but more for the potential of him growing an ownership consortium, buying the franchise from the Adams interests, and really making this a "Tennessee" franchise for the first time. That has been something I have wished for over a very long time now.

That said, the scenario I described above is most likely a pipe dream of mine at best....

 

LMAO. If we got Peyton it would be guaranteed playoffs. The dude still has it. He just sucks in the playoffs.

 

FWIW....Favre will be a first ballot HOF'er, just like Manning. I think that the whole idea of "not knowing when to quit" is overblown, at least from a fan perception perspective. From a health perspective I can see your point.

 

Regardless this team is less talented on Offense now than then.

 

No I'm saying outside of QB on offense this team is less talented now than then. That was back when CJ was actually relevant and doing well. With a younger Washington, Wright, healthy Britt, less used CJ, and Cook as a WR they would have been unstoppable.
