    Actually Pearl is a good coach. How many NBA players has he had on his team? As far as lying, he did that, no question. But illegal recruiting?

    What player did Pearl get thru "illegal recruiting"? He lied about something stupid but gained nothing by it. Not like his lie allowed his best players to play the entire season.

    Pearl lied and payed the price. Guy was a good coach.

    My city has a street named after him. He started his career at USI (my alum where he won a national championship in Div II) which also got busted with violations a few years ago. Their coach at the time was under Pearl during his tenure here, if I remember correctly.
