The Colts wasted a 1st round draft pick

Maybe Trent is just an average back and not worthy of a 1st round pick, but to say the Colts didn't need to add him (or another running back) because of Bradshaw's performance is naive at best. Bradshaw, while special at times, is an injury waiting to happen. Just yesterday, he was looked at by team doctors at least twice. The guy will not be available for the whole season and he can't be the feature back.

I think it was idiotic to give up a first for Richardson, but they had to have someone to help shoulder the load because Bradshaw can't do it on his own.

Get real man all tee numbers you've compiled are based on 1 single game 4 days after he even found out he played for the team. I agree that he's overrated, but it's definitely going to take more than 4 days and 1 game for him to get accustomed to Indy. And with Bradshaw, Luck, and Richardson running around and their compliment of receivers, the Colts are potent.

Yes it is. No you haven't.

And even if you did, I'm better at it- so it should be a new thread.

You're not new here. Stop acting like it.

Again- doesn't even really matter about his performance.

You're the one who brought up his 2.7 ypc two times, along with the Browns numbers with and without him.

I think the fact they spent a 1st next year on him is just helpful for us. I don't think he's honestly 1st round quality... I don't think many RBs are to be truthful. They are better off in committees and mid round picks. I'd rather spend a 4th rounder every year on a RB before ever spending a 1st one year.

The mid round picks are liable to come in and play just as well as any 1st rounder outside say an AP. plus this helps keep cost in check and also egos as well. If you have three RBs that can all be effective you have a fresh guy the entire game. Someone gets hurt, you have another.

    1st round RBs... Dumb

I thought it was a bad idea to give up a 1st round pick for a RB from the get-go. That said, it's waaaaaaay too early to definitively say this was a bad trade. It's been one game.

Trent Richardson is not a special RB overall. He is extremely powerful, but the guy just has no burst at all. He is a decent receiver and decent blocker. When I first saw him in the NFL, I thought, "He looks hesitant. He'll get better." Then, later I realized that Trent is just that slow. Not necessarily his top speed either, but his acceleration is just putrid for an NFL RB. That makes his ceiling fairly low. You don't trade a 1st round pick for a slow RB.

One of these days you guys will learn.

But again-- my main point was that Donald Brown was/is better than Richardson- so they basically gave up a 1st rd pick for no reason at all.

    Which they did.

*pats self on back* you so smart, DW...
