The 2015-2016 College Football Thread

All 8 out of Alabama's conference opponents are currently ranked. This season is going to be fun.

 

Quality losses incoming boys.

A&M at 16 is pretty fair, dont need a repeat of last year (although I wasn't too excited last year, this year I'm more optimistic though). In Chavis and Garrett I trust.

In all honesty the SEC West gauntlet is going to be nearly impossible to run through undefeated for any team.

 

SEC teams have a nice setup. Must be nice to never be able to be discredited. Here's how it generally works:

Get inflated rank by playing a lackluster OOC schedule;
Lose in conference but not be discredited because it was SEC;
Lose your bowl game;
Come back ranked in the preseason the next year.

Bama and A&M were the only West teams that looked any kind of impressive.

 

The SEC bias is unreal this year.

"If all of us are ranked, they can never lower our rankings for losing to each other!"

Big 10 week 1:
Utah beats Michigan
TCU beats Minnesota (actually a good loss)
Alabama beats Wisconsin
NW beats Stanford (this is good I guess)
Michigan State beats Western Michigan by 7
Temple beats Penn St
BYU beats Nebraska
Indiana beats Southern Illinois by 1 point
Marshall beats Purdue

You literally have no room to talk about lackluster schedules or conference bias when you play football in a basketball conference. Hell, Ohio State struggled against an unranked VT school until their starting QB was knocked out. If Ohio State drops 1 game this year, you're out of the hunt. That's how bad your schedule is.

btw Alabama and Ohio St play the same amount of ranked Big 10 teams this year, enjoy your 10 bye weeks until Michigan State, some teams actually have to play competitive football. I guess that's why Urban left with his tail between his legs running to Ohio State (smart move actually but that co-ed he was caught with not so much).

 

There is bias outside of the SEC.

Lets not act like the usual suspects dont get the benefit of the doubt as well:

We've actually had this discussion before earlier this summer but Ohio State is a top football program. Doesn't matter what conference they're in, they would be at or near the top. It's not like if they moved to the SEC or Pac-12 they would go 8-4. That's silly. I hope for a rematch because Alabama should've had that game (no disrespect) but we blew it. Would also be the best match up for the title at this point as well.

 

Well, let's see. A lot of top recruiting classes, good coaching staffs and tradition. Except Boise St and arguably Clemson. So who else has those qualities? Oh yeah the SEC but it's so biased.
