How is leaving at 6-10 jumping ship"mid-season"? The season was over...

 

Saban is making around 7mil/year in Alabama. The top HC gigs in the NFL are around 8 mil/year. He could probably pretty easily get an NFL level salary from them by just mentioning he might be interested in a different job.

Plus if he took an NFL HC job, I doubt they'd offer top dollar.

 

He's probably labeled like Harbaugh.....great college coach but not suited for the NFL, especially after his stint at the Fins. Kelly is getting there. But there is always someone dumb enough to take another chance. Be interesting to see what he does.

He's got great job security right now. Something he won't have in the NFL
