Along with a 4th rounder in exchange for their 1st and 6th. Seems like a bad move for the Rams. The Patriots actually acquired a higher draft pick than what they gave up to get him. And he's a year older with no control beyond 2018 (except for the franchise tag, which I can't imagine they would do).

Seems especially dumb when you consider they could likely get Dez for a mid-late round pick or wait til he is cut.

Cooks is more complete WR to have than Dez

Geez, wow, Rams are all in and making a huge bet for the 2018 season. No lie, kind of wish we would land some immediate impact guys too. I do believe Malcolm and Dion will be though.

3 straight 1000 yd seasons, decent TDs.

It will be interesting to see how Cooks does with a QB not named Brees or Brady throwing to him though.

If they are pretty sure he will be a good receiver for them, it’s more likely to be a hit than spinning the roulette wheel on a rookie. More expensive though. I’m surprised these trades don’t happen more often. A good player is a known asset.. most 1st round picks end up being average at best.

I certainly wished we would have traded for a good player instead of the Wright/hunter/Britt picks.

Sure. But he doesn't cost a 1st rounder.

Loading up on aging players backfires more often than first round picks bust.

It's easy to say you'd give up our busted picks for good players. Would you trade a 21 year old Jurrell Casey with 5 years of control for Cooks with 1 year of control?

There are better options available than trading a 1st round pick for 1 year of Brandin Cooks, who is not an elite WR.
