The offense schemes were awful last year with 2 wr sets with both wrs within 5 yards of each other and nonsense like that.... Mariota has had an accuracy problem past 15 yards since the day he arrived. For Mariota to be successful we need to throw a lot of screen passes and hope our receivers can make things happen.

 

FWIW, the SB MVP looked like hot poo too

We have a serious problem though. This team has no wideouts (AGAIN) and Mariota isnt good enough to make guys better. Taylor and Davis nothing again and just when you thought Taylor was turning the corner. Im so sick of our wideout situation. Marcus was awful today and I am not sure how to fix that. We have no backup though, and im beginning to think we may be in for a long season.

Oh and any positive you take from the offense the first 2 games, check this out. No one game plans 1st or 2nd pre-season games. When you do game-plan is game 3, and look what happened, could not even cross midfield. So yes I am concerned, BIG TIME.

 

They'd better bring in someone to compete with him.

Either draft a QB or pick someone up in FA.


No way he should be considered a starter if he's still playing like this all year.

Still bad footwork. Still bad decisions. Still bad throws. Still plays like a rookie more often than not.

 

So far, he has only proven that he was a great college player and an average NFL QB. If he doesn't have a blow out season this year, JR will be looking to replace him.
