Offensive Line is the Biggest Problem by Far!!!

    The offensive line is living off their performance 2 seasons ago. Marcus could not step up in the pocket and get rid of the ball because of the Turnstile in interior offensive line. Also, they have not been able to run block all season. Earl Campbell in his hay-day would have trouble running up middle with the Titans offensive line:
    * Josh "Turnstile" Kline has been playing awful all season. His play has been diminishing since last season. Looks like the GM is showing too much love for another ex NE Patriot.
    * Ben Jones gets absolutely knocked back in short yardage; His play has dropped
    * Quinton Spain graded out the highest last game before leaving due to injury and he is suppose to be the weak link based on the GM trying to replace him in off season.
    * Lewan - looks like he is catching a mild case of Albert Hainsworth disease after the big contract. Its a shame because he is the most talented on the O-Line.
    * Conklin is coming back from an injury so he at least has a mild excuse for his drop-off. He appears to be getting back into form. He just needs to cut out the penalties.

    Without a decent O-Line everybody looks worse!

    Other thoughts:
    RB Dion Lewis , another ex NE Patriot, has littler interest in pass blocking. So, keeping him in to max protect is a Joke and just eliminates a potential receiver for Marcus and doing our opponents a favor.

    I am convinced if Derrick Henry ran behind the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line and got the same carries as James Conner that he would be in the top 5 in rushing in the NFL.

    Well I’ll give you the hf because it is painfully obvious that it’s true. I will say, however, that good coaching and plays will make up for these weaknesses. How good do you think NE’s line is?

    Lol Lewis is like 3' tall and 120lbs.. he just isn't big enough to block..

    The average amount of time that he held The ball before he got sacked was over 4 and a half seconds . They can't hold of the line and blitz all day.

    I think our oline has been decent. Last game was a joke and not sure what happened there. they have held up decently while being hurt. We got alot of key players back from nursing an injury or playing through some. I think our biggest problem is a TE. Mariota seemed to look alright in a few games with this same line. We have yet to establish an identity I think based off our TE. Our Wrs have shown they drop alot but make enough catches to win. Our TEs havent shown up for 1 game where I can argue certain players and positions have shown up.

    How much of that 4 seconds was he running around trying to get away from guys that were in his face in 1.5 seconds?

    Some of the sacks were certainly on Mariota...but the Oline was a wet 1 ply toilet paper sheet out there.

    No one was getting open fast enough for Mariota to get the ball out by the time the Oline let 4-5 guys through plus Mariota held on to a few too long.
