That would be extremely hard to believe but possible. If you do something at a professional level it would be extremely hard to not notice every fine minute detail...

 

People need to stop getting caught up in the wording. It is worded specifically that way for 2 reasons. First, there is no direct evidense of Brady or anyone specifically saying they were told to go below the league limit. But there is a mountain of circumstantial evidence. Second, this is the exact burden of proof and the exact wording for someone to be found GUILTY of VIOLATING the RULE.

Everyone who has actually read the report outside of the Pats organization have come to the obvious conclusion. Brady is guilty. Period.

Problem is, he is basically the face of the NFL and it's most winning team in recent memory so he is a part of the PRODUCT of the NFL and it doesn't want it's star player sidelined for a season. Notice the GUILTY guy got 4 games (which probably gets reduced to 2 on appeal) but the TEAM and organization got a 1mil fine and lose a 1st and 4th rnd draft picks. So the team is arguably taking the bigger punishment than the guy whos guilty.

Ray Farmer got 4 games for simply violating the rules with no competitive advantage. The Falcons Rich McKay also was suspended (like Sean Peyton) even though he didn't know about the guy pumping crowd noise into the stadium. How does Brady get ONLY 4 games and no suspension for Belicheck?

Polian and Hasselback were saying they never heard of any QB's tampering with the ball below rule levels and certainly not after they had been inspected by officials before the game.

 

I'm not disagreeing that he isn't guilty. And I wouldn't be able to take anything polian says as unbiased.

 

Also the 1mil levied against the pats is unprecedented. Most ever for a fine against a team.

 

I'll even help with a theory that more teams did say something...

They told the league... But they didn't go public with it. Seems reasonable.
