Conor definitely has the power to KO Floyd, but probably not with clown gloves on.
This is something that surprised me about Floyd agreeing to Conor's requests for the fight.
I saw that he agreed to 154lbs, and I thought the reason why was this:
152lbs wear 10oz gloves
154lbs wear 12oz gloves
Boxing using the give a pound, take a pound rule, so 153lbs is kind of a grey area, since it's past the 152 10oz cutoff, but "give a pound, take a pound" says they're still in the 10oz glove limit.
So, I thought 154 would ensure 2 extra ounce on the gloves, negating more of Conor's KO power. But then he also agreed to 10oz gloves. So, he let Conor fight at his own weightclass and wear the lighter gloves. I was surprised by that.
Reading to much into it.
It's a boxing match at the end of day.
Floyd hasn't been in the rings for 2 years.
Right. Not with 10oz gloves.
Every boxer Floyd has fought in the past 10 years hits MUCH harder than Connor.
"Clown gloves"... your pettiness is so ridiculous.
Luckily he's fighting a guy that hasn't been in the ring in over 10 years... and that was when he was getting knocked around by bum Irish amateurs.
Floyd could party and fornicate all night, roll off the couch, and still win this one easy.
Do people in here actually believe Connor is a threat??
Yes, everyone has a punchers chance... no it won't happen.
Most likely fighting closer to his "real weight"
The fight is in 2 months which is really soon for a fight, less weight to cut.
I think it could potentially be more interesting than people think. Obviously it'd be an upset of epic proportions for CM to win though.
No. I think the fight is a joke. But I don't blame Connor for getting the payday.
Would've been a lot more interesting if say it were a kickboxing match. But then Floyd would lose at anything other than a clown glove fight. Right @Deuce Wayne ?
