SUMMARY: Many Titans players have had minor arthroscopic surgeries this week to take care of some problems. Among them, QB Billy Volek had work done on his knee and is expected back for March mini-camps. DTs Albert Haynesworth, Rien Long and Marcus White, along with LB Rob Reynolds, had arthroscopic knee surgery. LB Brad Kassell and DE Travis LaBoy had work on their shoulder. WR Drew Bennett (knee) and linebacker Cody Spencer (sports hernia) already have have had surgeries since the season's end. "They are minor, routine clean-ups," Coach Jeff Fisher said. "There will be no problems with anyone."

I think it shows how hard it is to play football and how damaging it is to their bodies.

Many players can barely walk the day after a game. They earn every penny that they make.

Yeah, I completely agree. Football is the one sport where the GIGANTIC salaries are warranted. Except for maybe hockey, the risk of injury/general life-altering repetetive collisions are so much higher than any other sport...
  4. Gigantic salaries aren't deserving just because of all the contact. Arena league players don't get paid millions. Neither do college players.

NFL players get paid big money because fans, and people trying to sell advertising to the fans, are willing to pay it.

Just because people are willing to put their body through hell to make money doesn't mean they "deserve" it...
