I'll wait for Free Agency to open before 'taking expert mocks to heart.'

This draft needs to be very heavy on the big boys on both sides of the ball. We've got the outside talent, now we need to shore up the interior. Nose tackle or a DT that has some real explosiveness would be a great way to start.

It does help, but you'd need someone truly elite to consistently create pressure up the middle. There is just too much resistance, and those guys are usually outnumbered. Fat Al is irrelevant because the passing game is quicker today. Pressure in the face of the QB isn't as effective because they are expected to be mobile in the pocket and capable of throwing on the run. Jacksonville has expensive and likely as good an interior pass rushing group in the league, and they hardly breathe on the QB when they faced an OL which didn't suck.

Passing game really hasnt changed as much as people say over the years. 2000-now its been Brady types with quick releases tearing it up. If anything you could maybe claim the short passing game has taken a bigger presence, but Im only 31 and didn't watch enough football in the 90's to say if thats true or not..

Fat Al would still wreak havoc today if he still had it IMO...

Like the idea of a pass rusher, but not Landry in the 1st.

...and going 4- 3 would be a setback.

During the Haynesworth contact year, Mularkey was a coveted OC with a top 10 offense and a rookie QB. Surely the game has changed since then.

Compare the QB ratings back then to now. Some of the worst QBs would have been considered average then, and the average ones would have been some of the best back then in terms of QB ratings. Jared Goff would have topped the list. Ryan Tannehill would have been considered a borderline Top 5 QB. Things have obviously changed in the favor of the passing game, even though it appears more subtle than it actually is.

Im not buying it, its the same game for the most part.

Only real change has been to the rules. Kickoffs, PATs, etc
