As much as I despise Kerry Collins on the football field, he's a good insurance policy to Vince. Entirely different QB's, but we can tone down the offense for Collins to finish a game. If we go into a game with anyone other than Vince starting, then we should carry a third guy. Simms is a good bet to stick around for the third guy, put him on a string and bring him back when needed. We'll need every roster spot we have for D-lineman, so keep Simms around to be 'that' guy. I don't think drafting a QB is worthwhile right now.

Two of the best QBs in NFL history were late round selections.

    2010:
    Vince- Starter
    Collins- Backup
    Simms- CUT
Rookie late round- 3rd string/practice squad

    2011:
    Vince- Starter
    2nd year player- Backup

That's what I hope to see happen. If the guy ends up a gem, that's great trade value or even a potential replacement. If he's terrible, no big loss.

    ...just kidding.

I hope he is released; then Titans should draft Mike Kafka, Jevan Snead, Zac Robinson, Tim Hiller, or John Skelton in the 6th round.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher strongly asserted that Kerry Collins is his No. 2 quarterback.

Collins is owed $5.5 million this season, but Fisher indicated that money won't be a problem and Collins shouldn't worry about getting cut. Fisher added that Chris Simms was signed simply because they like his potential.

Who cares? It's Collins or Simms. I know who I want.

Or a draft pick that has the potential to actually start and lead this team within a year or 2...

This how you avoid ending up with things like Vince and Collins battling out for the #1 spot that neither really had any business playing.

Agreed. In 2011 Collins should be retired and a DP should be challenging VY for the starting job. I sure hope the Simms signing reflects KFC's contract status and not an indication that a QB won't be drafted this month.

If we draft a QB it will be as a #3 or PS.

And pretty sure Vince won't be unseated anyway.

Regardless, Simms or Collins will be gone, so again, who cares?
