Yes. And picking right (extend or no) is a performance indicator of a GM.

 

I hear what you guys are saying but...

If I dump my 1st rounder with 1st rounder contract, but nail a 2nd rounder with a 2nd rounder contract, I kinda feel like that is a win.

I think we should end up with 1 starter each draft. If we end up with a good starter out of a draft (regardless of round) we won that draft.

 

It would make sense to start negotiations AJ brown’s contract now then too.

I agree all contract stuff goes on the GM. I think it’s the hardest part of a team to actually grade until hindsight is available.

 

I HOPE they’ve already started talking.

 

AJ Brown has played two seasons and has a contract for two more. I doubt we talk extension until after next season, so going into his fourth. But the dude will want a tone of money. I doubt we give it to him.

 

AJ is worth it. An extension should be priority #1 next off season.

 

All depends on the asking price.

 

At this point I would gladly pay him as one of the top receivers in the league.

 

If he balls out again in 2021, AJ is gonna be looking for $20m Amari Cooper, Julio Jones type money.

 

I believe there is a certain numbers of years you have to wait before negotiations. I could be wrong but I feel like I heard that before.
