Jonnu Smith Ready?

He definitely needs to improve but so does a lot of players. He just has bigger cleats to fill. He has been thrust into the role of replacing one of the best TE's of the game, give him time. I heard the same usual people complaining about Corey Davis, now complain about Smith. Everybody doesn't come in the league and ball out from day one.

 

Now that's the truth! Our pass catchers have some game changing egregious drops! I was losing it; Jonnu on that 3rd down, Tajae on that long TD pass (yes there was a BS non call PI but still the ball hit him on the hands), Jennings on the deep OT pass, etc. Yes, Eagles had drops. Moving forward we need our guys to find their hands!

 

Jonnu looks like he has NO confidence.

 

You can see the talent in Davis, production or not. I just dont see it with Jonnu.

 

Agreed but Smith and Davis totally different. Jonnu is still learning how to block some of the best players THEN he gotta try to make a play? LOL he's still trying to find his way. Davis was drafted 5th overall because he's a playmaker. Jonnu was drafted because he's an athletic TE. He's a long way from being playmaker.

 

Jonnu got stone hands. He needs to stay after practice with the ball machine

 

Best way to get confidence? Catch the damn ball! If I were the coach, he'd be staying late every day this week catching balls from the jugs machine.

 

Smith looks like hes being game planned out of the game plan.

The 2017 Rams did nothing out of the TE position last year.

 

I also think Jonnu was more so a project, drafted to not be thrust into a starting role for a few years. Get some PT backing up one of the best, learn the game and improve blocking skills.
