Most 1st round picks are 'busts' or never live up to thier hype. 1st rd picks are overrated. Only a handful of the 32 people taken in the 1st round of the draft will become real playmakers that we hear actually hear about during thier careers. Most will end up being solid starters and nothing more, and some will be playing on a different team or out of the league with in a few years.

There is always a chance to stike gold, but most years most teams don't. The most important part of the draft is getting solid role players and depth in the later rounds.

The year we picked VY for example ... who would've been that much better that was being hyped as a top talent? Mario Williams is no longer with his team, neither is Reggie Bush, Matt Lienart, Jay Cutler. Obviously there were some guys that went later in the draft that have gone on to have good careers, but we realistcally weren't taking anyone else that year other than the guys that were listed if they would've been available.
