    How do you know? The 49ers defense was built in part on mid to low draft picks and cast offs from other teams. Why did we sign all these guys on the defensive side of the ball if they suck?

    I agree FA signings and drafting has been terrible and ineffective. I also agree that we SHOULD be better than we are. Still, to point to 4 teams over the course of the past 4 seasons and act like that's the norm is disingenuous. Typically, these transitions take some time.

    The 2011 Texans had Watt, Cushing, Mario Williams, Barwin. The 2011 Niners had Willis, Bowman, Aldon Smith, Carlos Rogers, Goldson, Justin Smith, Ahmad Brooks.

    We don't have anywhere close to that kind of talent and impact players. And that's not to mention the offensive side of the ball being complete turds as 520 said.

    Good lord was the last time this team game-planned?
    I don't know what Whiz' gameplan is but at least it's not CJ up the gut for 2yds twice, a holding penalty then 3rd and long...

    If these receivers would catch a ball now and then maybe the defense could catch a breath.
