Marlon Humphery vs Conley Clark's take Humphrey, Pros: Olympic level athlete, strong down hill defender with good instincts in run defense. Has top end speed and tested like an elite caliber CB. Probably best fit as a c2 under CB or even a safety at the next level early on. Cons: Was constantly targeted and tested deep due to his inability to defend the deep ball. Athletics and speed don't compute actually helping him after around 10 yards. Technically needs time to adjust. 2 year starter, 29 games played. 61 tackles, 20 assists. 13 PDs, 5 INTS. 2016 season: 52 targets 22 completions. 6 PDs, 2 INTS. 400 yards given up. Gareon Conley, Pros: Excelled as a leading starter for 2 years, playing games in 3 different seasons. Strong man coverage, possibly better Zone. Showed Press, Mirror and bail techniques. Rarely appeared to get out of control or get uncomfortable. Cons: Recently had the help of Hooker playing over the top and Lattimore across from him. Both also leading secondary defenders in this draft class- could have helped take pressure off of him (as well as Eli Apple last year). Ran a 4.44 at the combine but didn't appear to have that sort of speed on the field. Most expected him to slide into draft day as a mid to late first round pick- now receiving CB2 hype behind fellow tOSU teammate Marshawn Lattimore. Played in 35 games, 66 tackles, 25 assists. 15 PDs and 6 INTs. 2016 season: 43 targets, 14 completions. 7 PDs, 4 INTs, 174 yards given up.
