I like the baseball idea. 137 rounds (or however many) and the draft lasts 2 weeks. Just think of all the excitement we’d have for 17th WR pick fighting for the practice practice squad.

I think the compensatory picks for coaches should be just first dibs on 1 UDFA, basically a 7th.
I like the compensatory for losing a big time player but even that should be capped at 4th.

 

I think 10-15 rounds would be better but NFL most likely looked at data and 7 was probably where diminishing returns kicked in

ALSO... 7 rounds allows a pick from OL, TE, WR, Offensive backs of all sorts running and quartering, DL, LB, DB
