Gabbert appreciation thread

    I want to thank Blaine Gabbert for a respectable performance as a backup starting QB yesterday.

    Backup QB's are, by definition, below NFL average.

    Yesterday, Gabbert had a 42.7 Total QBR (50 is NFL average).

    So, in my mind, a slightly below average performance is something to be happy about from a backup QB.

    For comparison, last year vs Miami, Cassel had a Total QBR of 18.3

    It's great what he's doing...right now. We have also seen the ugly side of Fitz. He is the worst kind of hot and cold.

    Good on gabbert to throw smart passes

    And good on the coaching staff on giving gabbert quick passes. Minimizing possible mistakes.
    No Turnovers, and a 65 percent completion percentage.. that’s gonna win some games. Whether they were easy passes or not. Only 7 incompletions all game: that’s good.

    that’s counting the guaranteed 1st down that Tajae dropped.

    That was the perfect game plan to protect your backup QB in multiple ways, and make up for your patchwork OL.

    Probably why he signed with a team which has Evans and Jackson. He knew Winston would screw up, and he'd be able to capitalize
