Then why would you completely ignore what you saw? Mariota is his own worst enemy.
Marcus needs to improve on not dropping his eyes, getting the ball out on time, and we need another Center.
Just losing faith that everything will finally click for him to be a top 10 QB. We've got one more season I guess.
Mariota gets nervous and indecisive because he can’t step up in the pocket. When your interior line is being pushed into your face on most pass plays what can he do?
Did you watch any games?
Well, if you are going to just make stuff up then there is no reason to further this conversation.
We should probably think about hiring a new oline coach as well. We’ve put plenty of resources in a line that should keep a consistently clean pocket. I don’t understand why the Colts would let Dave DeGuglielmo go but maybe think of giving that guy a shot.
I like MCM as much as anyone but our line was a problem last season. They had good games but were as inconsistent as everyone else on offense
Did you watch the games? The pocket was constantly erratic.
Everyone is to blame, but the season was mainly a perfect storm of unfortunate events.
Interior O-line played like complete ass most the year. Conklin should be a guard (yeah he was an all pro his rookie year when majority of snaps, a TE lined up next to him to help chip the guy inside) and has trouble containing an outside speed rush from even the most average edge defenders.
Most reliable receiver out for the year, others beginning of the year were consistent with not getting open or dropping passes when they were wide open. The on top of that, how often did we see a receiver make a play on a 50/50 ball? When they did get the chance, they didn’t. At the same time, Marcus didn’t really give anyone much of a chance to try. He probably felt it’s safer to eat the sack, instead of risking a play that could end up in a turnover.
Marcus probably a) having trust issues with poor IOL play. B) probably having trust issues with his receivers. c) dealing with that nerve issues injury.
But we all watched the games. Idk care what any analylitics or stats say. I saw Ben Jones and Josh Kline either on the ground or end up pushed 5 yards deep in the backfield in a matter of seconds way too many times to let them slide of any sort of criticism.
The Oline was reminiscent of seeing Schwenke play on both sides
