I think we need to use more shotgun sets with 3 WR+Cook or 4 WR so that CJ is used as a decoy to hold the linebackers and free up the passing game. As soon as they stop keying on CJ he makes them pay with a draw or zone play.

Another way he could be used effectively is if him and ringer are on the field at the same time or we run some option pitches with dive reads going to Q. Johnson.

He's still a weapon when he's on the field we just have to find ways to get him in space. He also needs to improve his catching. Those little 3 and 4 yard drops can hurt an offense. Lots of 3rd downs come down to a few yards.

 

Which is all I wanted to see. Sometimes when there's nothing there, you gotta lower your pads and push the pile.

I like how he responded to the criticism though. I hope the same fans that booed him, will praise him when he has big games.

 

Some of you guys are acting like Ringer is on pace to be All Pro and starting him would ensure the Super Bowl. He had 5 carries for 21 years. He had the touchdown on a trick play, a decent run on a draw play where you could drive a car through the hole, and he got stuffed 3 times.

 

We're fake fans, remember? What does he expect?
