Maybe over time he can prove this but for now we only have the results of their career production. Blount was better.

They're the same. Guys who run high and soft. Give them a hole exactly where it's supposed to be and it's hell tackling them. Make them move in any direction and the play is over. Total liabilities in the passing game.

Well yeah, Blount spent about 6 years in the league. We're talking about ability here, so Blounts mediocre career numbers aren't that relevant. But just for kicks, his best season was 2016, and the rest of his career he was mostly a short yardage guy. He was a JAG. Henry is bell cow RB that is well on his way to back to back 1000 yard seasons. Also among the league leaders in TDs. Not to mention, he is actually a receiving threat. He's quite clearly a better a RB than Blount ever was.

By this line of thinking, Mariota is better than Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson,

Except that pretty much every time we run a screen with him it goes for 10+ yards.

46 catches in 3.5 years with the titans. 17 in three years with Alabama.

He’s a real killer in the passing game.

That makes me wonder how many times he was targeted.

Not quite. We’re talking RB not QBs.

They are extremely similar RB and if henry’s Career were to somehow end today, we could look back on the two and easily point out that Blount was better.
As far a WR threat again, maybe over time Henry will probe better but so far he has a couple screen passes and that’s about it.
Outside of 1 month of his career, he just hasn’t shown all that potential people think he has.
Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a fine back and I’m perfectly fine with him being “the guy” and he definitely has a nose for the EZ. He just needs more time to continue proving what you’re saying is correct.

Not a lot, which is telling when you look at his tenure both places.

In Alabama that duty went to Kenyan Drake.

With the Titans that duty has gone to basically everyone not named Derrick Henry.

Look at his snap totals in games when the titans have the lead. Compare those totals to games when they’re trailing in the fourth quarter. It’s no comparison.

The dude just isn’t good in the passing game.

Edit: 62 career targets with the Titans.

Probably goes hand in hand with his inability to block. RB have too many route that start with blocking and turn to check downs.

As far as set routes for him to run, I think it’d be funny to see Henry lined up wide somewhere.

I know there’s other routes but I generally agree with you that the team has doubts about his hands to a certain degree or just every other RB has been considered to have “better” hands.
