His name is Stone, he's part of The Hand. That will probably be who The Defenders face in their show. There were also a lot of Iron Fist connections which is unfortunate since he's the last to get a show before The Defenders.
just finished it. **** was sick.
Pretty awesome show, I'm hooked in the middle of it. Busy with university stuff or I would have binged it by now.
I'm looking forward to Iron Fist most of all.
The show was full of MASSIVE Iron Fist easter eggs and starters.
Nobu was obviously part of The Hand, red outfit and all.
Also Black Sky is an Iron Fist reference. The Hand worship an ancient demon and drink the demon's blood to gain immortality or something like that. Black Sky is the blood of the demon supposedly being carried in that child Stick killed, maybe?
Madame Gao is a reference for Iron Fist. Notice she punched DD across the room? She ain't all human.
Also in her convo with Leyland she says she is going home and Leyland asks her is she means China. She responds "somewhere much further away".
This is a reference to Steel Serpent again and mystic city of K'un-Lun which he is from. It is an ancient secret alien city and the entrance to it is Tibet so that is likely where Madame Gao was talking about going.
Also her heroine packs had the stamp of the Steel Serpent on them which is part of the symbol on Iron Fist's chest.
Also Potter was designing his Gladiator suit and Stiltman's leg were in there too.
Leyland Owlsly is the father of Leyland Owlsly Jr a villian known as "The Owl".
They also referenced DD's Greek female friend in college, obviously Electra.
Also I realize now the guy Stick met with was Stone but my initial reaction was Mandarin!!!!! Then I was like no....
Still hope Mandarin is involved since we are getting into Iron Fist, magic, Asia lore stuff.
Fisk is a great character. Just finished the childhood flashback episode. Got five more left...
Great first season. He accomplishes so much in the first season.. You have to wonder if they can make the next season measure up at all.
It's cool that they don't give him the official costume until towards the end. It kills any possible cheese factor. And they have a good reason for the suit.
Most superheroes have lame reasons for getting costumes. This was really more of a vigilante/organized crime show than a superhero show, which made it really interesting. Hopefully they can keep it from being tacky when he's wearing the hero suit the whole next season and beyond.
This was a perfect choice to make this a tv show vs a film. It takes a lot more skill to put out 13 hours of story, vs 2 1/2. That's why shows like BB and others are masterpieces. Most stories can't stay cohesive with so many years and hours to fill.
I don't watch many TV series, but this has been the only one ive been into since BB.
