Understood. But not st #5. That high a pick is expected to produce. Like AJ GREEN. Like Julio at #7. Otherwise draft lower and hope to develop. The only WR drafted super early should be NFL ready.

I think he’s a nice talent. I say this because I haven’t seen enough to call him amazing. I think the forum is jumping on the whole injury thing. Yes he’s had two since his arrival. There maybe something to that as being prone. And then it could be freak. The game at this level is physical. Let him get through this stretch, his first couple years and let’s see if he’s adjusted.

We tried to trade out of it, but Robinson was finding no takers because the draft lacked exactly what you suggested- #5 worthy picks who were ready to contribute at a high level right away. You can't speak in generalizations. It doesn't apply to this draft class. Not a single guy in the Top 10 played at a high level in their rookie season.

Yep, they waited until the last second to make the pick. I am certain they were busy trying to trade but no one was willing to give up much for it.

While I agree the trade didn’t work out, it’s very likely JRob was a bit too stiff in what he was asking.

And Fournette , Mccaffery, Mahomes, Jamal Adams all contributed. And Deshaun Watson at #11 did as well. Your statement simply isn’t true they didn’t play at a high level.

To be fair, Adams is the only guy you mentioned that I would have preferred them draft. None of the other guys would have made sense for this roster.

Watson played at a high level. The others played at an average level, at best. And they are in positions with a much shorter learning curve.
Adams sucked last year, FWIW. A top 10 safety struggling as a rookie is far more concerning than a WR struggling with injuries and a terrible passing game.

You expect him to be invincible and not get injured just because he's the #5 pick? Okay.
