I don't totally disagree with that, but I guess we just look on to the Chargers.

Ok the obvious answer why Billy is making waves and why he does not start for our team is he is a secret agent, a la James Bond. Our country is in the middle of some trying times and the USA’s number one super agent Billy “The Albino Cobra” Volek is needed to save the day. He needs to make an excuse to be gone for an extended period of time. The US has placed a clone in that, though he resembles Volek is no Albino Cobra. Fisher was trusted to keep this secret and made the only move he could to make the team have a chance and brought in Kerry Collins. I do not think it is a coincidence that his number is 7. Football does not allow the extra 00 on his jersey or it would be blatantly obvious.

Called to duty this year he must hang up his cleats for a PP7. The US thanks you Albino Cobra. May your bullets be true and your laser watch cut through even the toughest steal in time to escape the exploding train.

Right on. Collins was handed this job without even auditioning for it, whereas Volek had 6 years of auditioning. And even if Fisher wanted to bring in Collins at the start of camp, but was denied by Reese, that doesn't excuse that he played a QB who clearly wasn't ready in our season opener.

This problem probably goes back to Fisher wanting Collins in the 95 draft...

That is true. Im not completely writing this team off by any means, but I do have to say that after the last couple of seasons and now this QB mess we have going on, that our FO, or coaching staff, or both just seem clueless for some reason.

    Exactly.

Cut the guy a bit of slack.

I don't think anyone here is much of a fan of his. But, he's a Titan.

So, at least support him while he's there.

I do support him, and to make this clear, I have no problem with Collins being here and do think he is probably better than Volek. Im more confused about the timing of the whole thing. I really dont think Collins had a chance to perform well week one simply because of the little practice time he had with the team. But I dont fault him for that, I fault the coaching staff and FO.

I'm sticking to the notion that given "a chance" KFC will have all those who defend him now calling for his head, and for the head of anyone on the staff that will defend him by half-time this Sunday.

The timing thing brings up an excellent point. I realize Collins has been around the league and seen a lot of different offenses, etc., but it was just a short time ago we were talking about how it would be six or eight weeks into the season before McNair became totally comfortable with the Ravens O. We gave Collins two weeks???
