The deal would be contingent on him signing a long term deal. First, agree to terms with the trade, then get Jeffrey to sign a long term deal in just a week or two of negotiation time. Not easy...which is why these things don't frequently happen. Not impossible.

But assuming you had to give Jeffrey Dez Bryant type money, what draft pick would you be willing to give up on TOP of that huge contract?

 

I think Mariota signed a 4yr deal 2015-2018 with a club option for 2019.

That gives us 4 years to build an amazing team around him before we'd have to give him a huge chunk of our cap space! Think, try and win the SB before we pay him like Seattle did with Russell Wilson.

 

We can also put off paying Mariota by franchising him in year 6, same for Lewan

 

If I were the gm, I would definitely be working the phone to see if it's possible.

Thing is, right now, we may be he only suitor. When he hits FA, he will have options.
