Yeah somebody needs to get all these players together and let them know that the NFLPA key word is "Partners" not employees and darn sure not slaves. I mean you wouldn't pay an employee 50 percent and you wouldn't pay a slave anything.

disagree completly. I guess you, AP and tons of others view slavery as a failed economic theory instead of the dehumanizing institution that it is/was. I disagree with you, Ap and tons of others on this point.

There is no reasonable comparison to playing in the NFL and slavery. It is a dumb comparision that lacks perception. Adrian Peterson can quit, hold out, try to force a trade, etc etc etc. Actual slaves don't have those privelages or rights which is where any comparision between playing in the NFL and slavery is proven to be false. Dumb thing to say and no way it can be justified without taking a giant stretch, if at all.

What I get out of this thread:

Basically, a bunch of whiny, broke people are crying because yet another athlete proved to be ineloquent and offended their faux sense of morals.

He knows he's not a slave and none of you actually believe he thinks he's a slave. He's just not as media-trained as he should be. Get over it already.

I've seen a bunch of you say awful things more than once just lurking on this message board. I don't even get to see what you guys are like when no one's watching.

He has more money than you and the Japanese victims of mother-nature and he said something stupid.

Doesn't change the fact that the owners want to take more than half of the revenue. Greedy bstards.

Slavery is a serious word. Unfortunately idiots throw words like lynching and slavery around for hardly any reason. He should not have used that word it is disrespectful to people who have actually lived under those circumstances.

Damn if I'm considered broke, being broke is AWESOME!

Since you are clueless, let me clue you in....

Typing something anonymously on a message board is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than being a public figure (famous athlete) and voicing something borderline retarded (being a football player is being a slave!).

If I was famous and making public comments to a media source, I'd think about what I was going to say and how it would be perceived.

If I'm anonymously typing on a forum I don't really give a sht.

Go greedy owners. I'd rather intelligent business men have more money than idiots like AP.

Now go back to your mayonnaise sandwich and ketchup cracker you broke :moon::clown:

I'm about to do the research, but if anyone knows off the top of their head, please tell us, are there any minority owners?

I'm pretty sure there are none. But I'm not positive.

If I find there are no minority owners in the NFL, then Adrian Peterson's comments do make some sense. It's rich old white men using young black studs to make their money. Doesn't make any difference how much the "slaves" are making when what the "slave master" is making trumps that by 100.

The NFL seems to be half black half white, so it isn't "modern day slavery". Now the NBA, that's another story.
