answer poll. 6 day limit on poll.
Tough one but Denzel does everything from playing dad to playing cop to playing coach to playing bad guy.
From an acting standpoint, it's no contest really.
Two very "look at me acting!" actors.
Give the nod to DDL though. Mostly because of diversity. Though, how pretentious and over the top his method is makes me roll my eyes more than admire him. Dude takes on like 1 role every 2 years, too.
Denzel just plays the same damned guy every movie. And it's always ham'ish.
Washingtons actually kinda underrated I think so its tough to vote him out but no contest really.
DDL kills it everytime, picks only thing he knows he can nail down
denzel plays the same role every movie
if it takes pretentiousness to bring daniel plainview to life then so be it
It's only annoying to me because I think it's completely unnecessary and put on to make people think the process is sooooo taxing. FOH... you ain't really Abraham Lincoln, bro.
i think you can say that about a lot of actors but i think it's pretty genuine with lewis. whether or not it's necessary is another question, but i don't think he does it to put on appearances.
like the most humble spotlight hating dude in the industry
Ehhhhh. He only picks roles he knows will be up for serious Oscar consideration and makes people call him his character name while cameras aren't rolling- pretending to be the character and "living as" the character. That's all for-appearances nonsense.
He's good, but he's definitely guilty of that silly sh**.
