It really makes me start wondering what else can possibly contribute to CTE, if like heavy drug use or other things that Hernandez was involved in other than football magnified his CTE problems.

Anything that can permanently affect the brain?

Is it truly defined or is it closer to fibromyalgia's definition?

    Also... **** HERNANDEZ.

Though maybe that happened plenty in prison. We can only hope.

I dont know if spice or bath salts cause what would be considered CTE, but they definitely do permanent brain damage even after 1 use.

    Spice sucks!

CTE may have played a role but if you do the crime, you do the time.

Also... he only played pro for 3 years AND he was involed in criminal activities in college. Maybe even before that.

If CTE is actively causing NFL players to do what he did, we should just lock them up and throw away the key, post retirement.

In all seriousness, for better or worse, his family could not have scripted a better ending to the Aaron Hernandez saga. Give it a years time before we hear about the tales of Saint Aaron of the Damaged Brain.
