I get what you are trying to say, but your math is horrible.
Which part? I said over 60 yards. Based on that, I'd love to know where those numbers aren't accurate.
1) He’s played in 49 games.
2) even if you are dismissing 6 games, by your numbers, he has had 18 games out of 43 rushing for over 4 ypc.
3) the fact that he is averaging over 4.5 ypc for his career should cause you to factor in attempts. But, for some reason you think over 60 yards a game is the standard, regardless of number of carries. FWIW, Henry has a total of 12 games with 14 or more attempts.
I've stated again and again I'm not including the last month or so when he finally learned how to run. I know he's played 49 games.
If you look at my yearly numbers, It clearly adds up to 18 games over 4ypc. So idk why you're debating a typo lower down when you can see the numbers stated per year.
Also the fact that his YPC yearly is pretty good, yet he has so many terrible games is why I'm concerned about paying him. That's why I'm looking at YPC more but he's never been consistent week to week and needs to get 4ypc in way more than half of his games in 2019.
He doesn't deserve a big contract until he plays consistently. I don't wanna get burned again like CJ. He can have a good month to boost up his stats, but week to week when we can't get first downs on the ground, he's killing us. (Yes our o- line is terrible, but our run blocking isn't THAT bad).
I don’t think we should give him a big contract now, either. But, it’s not because he’s had “so many terrible games”, because he hasn’t. I want to wait and see what he can do when given more than 14 carries a game for an entire season.
He’s only had 8 games with 15+ carries and 24 games with 9 or less carries. He’s not used enough to have earned any kind of extension that he thinks will earn him serious money.
Which is what I said above.
Like someone said earlier, @Aqutis30 I think, the fact the team tried to trade Henry I wouldn't be surprised if he bets on himself and goes elsewhere.
There has to be some kinda shake up on the Oline. I am so tired of watching Ben Jones and Spain standing there looking stupid while Mariota and Henry get crushed in the backfield. We’re talking about potentially extending Mariota and Henry but what good does it do if we leave this ****show in front of them? That Kelly trade has saved our butts so much. Also, he’ll be a free agent in 2020. Might be time to make him a starter and extend his contract.
Also, I think Firkser should get some kind of contract. He would probably sign something somewhat minimal. He came in and was productive when called upon. Jonnu is unproven. Walker isn’t young. We might really need Firkser next season.
Henry couldn’t stay on the field because of his horrible pass blocking. Early in the season, I think every team knew that and gambled that he would get the ball every time he was on the field. They zeroed in on him. His pass blocking got much better as the season went on. I honestly think playing wildcat helped him with reads.
