I think our starting C this coming season gets drafted in rounds 3 or 4.
I think so, too. When he came in as a spot-starter he did well, and I always wondered why they decided to slide Amano down and stick Harris at LG. I think drafting a center on Friday/Saturday is likely, but I also think drafting a Guard and sliding Harris back to Center would be a viable option if they could find a guy that is good enough. That said I know nothing about the IOL prospects in this draft.
Phillip Blake, C, Baylor. 4th round.
^That works for me, but he may be gone in the 4th if Dallas wants him. I'd use a 3rd on him to make sure we get a quality center we can work with.
I could actually see Dallas stealing a few guys away from us how the Giants have been able to do. Might have to trade up a few spots in the 4th to make sure we get who we want.
I've seen Phil Blake mentioned a lot but never seen him play. What's he like? I like Molk from Michigan but really don't like Ben Jones from GA.
If the plan is to get our long term C in the draft and they have a guy or two in mind they really like they better plan on taking him where they know they can get him. I agree, the 3rd is a very good spot to take Blake and IMO if they really really like him (don't see him as much of a drop off from Konz) they might want to either take him in the 2nd or trade up in the 3rd. We simply can't afford to have him go off the board right before our pick. Blake has played some OT so he would probably be a nice guy to have who could play some OG or RT in a pinch.
