I knew who started this thread before I even opened it. I know this point in the offseason can be a little stale and quiet but come on! What kind of question is that?

It's not just CJs value as a player it is also his cost to the cap. Right now with his rookie contract he is only a $1.2M cap hit per year on average. Too much value to trade really.

If CJ puts up similar numbers to last season i'm sure his agent will be barking for a new deal or extension.

If a sucky team offered its next 3 first round picks, the Titans might not hang up immediately...

However, MR's response would likely be: "He isn't trade able. Next question."

Binge bulking/Cutting is stupid. I know it's popular belief, but it's a common myth. 1. It's unhealthy. 2. Gaining fat never = more muscle. 3. You can GAIN muscle and LOSE fat at the exact same time. 4. It's easier to keep body fat low all the time than to gain it and cut again.

These kids have no idea what they're doing and they gain muscle...because while pigging out (something they obviously don't do during cutting cycles) they are actually getting MORE nutrients. They're also gaining unneeded fat. The only reason they're getting the nutrients is because of the amounts of food rather than the quality. All they have to do is eat QUALITY food with MORE nutrients, and they wouldn't have to look like out of shape slobs for 4 months to look good for 2.

If they dieted correctly- they'd never have to bulk. How well do you think Lendale's bulking/cutting makes him look? Meanwhile guys that are ripped year round look 10x's better, right? They know what they're doing.

As for competition bodybuilders... they cut for photoshoots. They're never fat. They're just not as tone as when they are for competitions and shoots. This also involves dehydrating themselves. Going completely dry. Then they go back to 'normal' weight and their original body fat.

Sucks that tons people are taking that advice, but the best bodies you'll ever see... aren't bulking then cutting. I promise you.

I suppose I need to clarify:

When I think of 'bulking' I think of the typical bodybuilder.com forum kid that gets fat and out of shape. That's the type of bulking I'm saying is stupid. Gaining muscle + lots of body fat.

    Either way, it's not necessary.

I would have to concur with this.

Very, very few people are genetically predisposed to be able to gain significant muscle without consuming considerably more calories than they are burning.

This doesn't mean you have to gain 3 lbs of fat per lb of muscle, but it is almost always going to be some.

You have to add some fat, but you can build and cut at the same time. You can add just as much muscle as when 'bulking' while staying healthy.

And jesse, no thanks. You're probably about the most reputable member those forums have. Too many idiots in that place. Mostly 18 year old geeks that are only trying to get built because they're fearing virginity will last a lifetime. Look at their progress pictures for proof. lol

This statement is internally inconsistent unless you mean you can build muscle and cut weight while adding fat.

The only way this can happen is by dropping water weight, which is not really sustainable.

When you cut, you're not cutting muscle. You're cutting bodyfat. When you 'bulk' you should be adding muscle- not fat. (as most people do). You can do both at the exact same time.

Fat has nothing to do with muscle.
