I think it's a combination of everything. CJ, poor line performance, play calling, coaching and strength of schedule. Its week 7 and we're talking about "getting back to the basics." I don't want to hear that, thats why there is training camp and preseason. CJ has lost his mojo running in between the guards/center no doubt about that but Loggains is running the same damn plays up the middle against 8-9 guys in the box week in and week out. Its so predicatable its nauseating. WTF get the guy in space its not that hard. Screens, off tackle, wheel routes, swing passes, put him in spread sets. I'm not a OC but you look around the league at some of these teams and what they are doing with the same talent and its frustrating. I'm sure on more then one occassion during the course of a game each and every one of you have predicted multiple plays that the titans are going to run before the snap. So if we know as fans then no doubt the defense does as well since they are the ones watching film. After the bye there should be NO EXCUSES. Week 9 we should be hitting our stride and making a push for the playoffs not getting "back to the basics."

Yep. Many of us have been saying all this for well over a year now.

Agreed. Also, CJ's style just doesn't fit this team's offense IMO. And really, it never has. He was just such a physical freak and we had such an elite OL that it didn't matter. We can sit here and argue whether or not he's "lost a step" all day long. But if you're actually paying attention then it's clear that he's lost something and simply isn't the same guy anymore. Combine that with a much weaker OL (than we had in 08-10), and well.... this is the result.

Last year, everyone wanted to argue CJ vs. OL as the cause. Now, I think everyone but the most biggest CJ jock riders are willing to acknowledge that it's both.

I think he let the poor play of the OL get into his head. He never expects anything to be there so he slacks on his own effort. Not excusing it by any means. But I think that's part of what's going on. He should be giving 100% on each and every play no matter what. After all, he's a one-of-a-kind "playmaker" who said he shouldn't even be paid as a RB but as an "offensive weapon".

This year it's not even been that. It's been one freak play and then a whole bunch of busts.

I found this pieces interesting from Munch and Loggains . Perfect for this thread :

"They read things so fast, and they're going to play our tendencies in a big way," Munchak said. "They're going to read our formations and dissect them quickly, and they can run.

"Every week, we talk about these top-10 defenses we've been facing, and every week it's a different element. This team is really strong at linebacker so it will be another challenge for us." Loggains said.

So the coaches know the predictability of their offense so why not come out throwing. Spread offense with 4-5 wide and go no huddle. I think Locker is at his best when he's going no huddle. Defense won't expect it then hit them with play action and the running game. This is where all these so called "formations" that Loggains had been hiding come out.

You can't have any excuses if the play book stays vanilla. Your already on paper saying San Fran is gonna know your formations. A part of me wants to think they are gonna shake things up but I'm leaning towards Loggains F'n this up. God I hope I'm wrong...

For the love of whatever, He has faced the toughest run defenses in the league. After the bye, he should roll.

So thats an excuse? You want to be a good team and go deep into the playoffs your going to have to beat good teams by running the ball. As we know Tennessee is committed to running the ball so we have no choice. So after the bye week if he puts up 120 and a few td's against Jax and the Rams you think everything is going to be ok? We as fans will be happy for a few days maybe even that week but we're all gonna be thinking the same thing: Well that was against Jax and the Rams they suck. Maybe thats what they need but our guys are getting paid just like them. With the investments that we've made to the O-line and the coaching we have the running game should be the least of our worries.

You honestly believe CJ bears no responsibility whatsoever?
