I understand those names, and maybe we interview them, but I haven't read anywhere that Webster has mentioned plans to interview Jackson or Toub.

I have only see good things from Gruden over the years. You have any reasons why you think he isn't ready for the chance at HC? Guy has been winning with Andy F'ing Dalton.

I like how Zimmer and Franklin get fired up and look alive. Total opposite of Munchak's stale look on the sideline. Just think how aggressive and tough our defense would look if we had Zimmer as HC and Gregg Williams as DC??

I prefer Whisenhunt as my #1 but he probably ends up in Detroit.

Gruden also drafted that Dalton guy over Kaepernick.

He's a name... I don't recall him accomplishing anything of note in the league (if his name wasn't Gruden would he even be on the radar?). The Bengals offense has been decent, but nothing noteworthy. If Gruden gets a gig elsewhere, Hue Jackson steps into the Bengals' OC roll and they don't miss a beat. A Zimmer/Jackson combo might be decent for the Titties (Zim as the HC and Hue as the OC).

If limited to the names mentioned, I'd probably go with Quinn.

Just curious, why Quinn? I don't know much about him but am unimpressed with his 1 year as a DC of an already top unit.

Gruden drafted him? In what scenario does an OC draft a QB? I would think the HC might ask for some input, but I doubt it was Gruden's decision. And Dalton has been a good NFL QB.

Apparently Gruden's input made them select Dalton. I know he's just an OC, but that was his recommendation which they listened too. Gruden has done a good job with Dalton, but still a mistake he preferred him to Kaepernick.

But it was a much bigger mistake to take Locker in the top 10. And those who took Gabbert and Ponder.

That was a huge victory in the 2nd round, when most of the 1st round QB picks were busts.

Our sin, the Vikings', and the Jags' was much greater than the Bengals.

True, Gruden did pick Dalton over Kap. I believe many teams let Kap slip by them as they saw him as a project coming out of college. And believe only reason 49ers drafted him was because the pick was an extra one they traded for, and they already had Alex Smith in place, so Kap wasn't going to have to start, and he didn't! Alex Smith took them all the way to NFC Championship game in Kaepernick's rookie year.

I voted for Whisenhunt because of experience, but I am admittedly not a GM here. I am just happy that we may get a HC picked by our GM, and not forced on him by an owner who wants to be GM this time. No disrespect to Bud (RIP), but that will be different in this case IMO.
    nickmsmith high fives this.
