How could you possibly hate Verner? He has done nothing but play amazing as a rookie and brings a positive attitidue to the locker room. Kill yourself for that one.

really? I would go as far as saying he has played at least as good as Finnegan this year. I've seen Finnegan beaten a lot more this year than I remembering seeing in recent years..

Aaron Brooks vs. VY

I have often said that VY's upside would be to have a career like Steve McNair and his bottom end would be a guy like Aaron Brooks, but he'll probably float around the Vick range. In my mind those would be his three comparable players.

What I mean by that is the pre-2010 Vick was exciting and dynamic won some games but didn't put in the effort in practice and the film room to win. That has no since changed. This thread is a great topic and got me thinking about the bottom end comp. Take a look:

Aaron Brooks Playoff Record as Starting QB: 2000 (1-1) 0 - Pro Bowls
Vince Young Playoff Record as Starting QB: 2007 (0-1) 2 - Pro Bowls

Brooks never played in a Pro Bowl but has won a playoff game. Brooks had four seasons of 20 TD's or more. In each of those he threw fewer picks than TD's. He threw the ball deep and made plays with his legs.

VY is talented, no doubt. However, his production on the field speaks for itself. ProBowl appearance with stats like he has is a bit of an anomaly. As a Titans die-hard, the only thing I want to see are wins.

I hope that VY matures real quick like Vick did or leaves town quicker.

 

those stats are a bit misleading now. aaron brooks threw the ball 500+ times 4 times in his career while VY hasnt even threw 400 yet. you cant develop a QB's skills with him handing the ball off all of the time.

not saying i disagree with you point just trying to be fair. i think if given more of a chance VY whould be twice the QB he is today. the things that are draging him down are leadership and maturity
