Velasco to receive Tender

Just read on ESPN AFC South Blog that the Tennessean reported the Titans have put Draft Tender on restricted FA C/G Fernando Velasco. The level of the tender was not disclosed, but if its high enough I am sure no other team is gonna match that which means he will be on the team next year.

SO, thats great news for Titans. First we kept Bironas, now seems we are set to retain Velasco. Of course its not a guarantee yet, but if we set a 1st or 2nd round Tender for him, we would be rewarded either way. Looks like we making the right steps so far. Can't wait to see what goes down tomorrow.

*****UPDATE***** Since creating this thread, it was released that Titans put 2nd round Tender, so if another team signs him, and we don't match, we get a 2nd round pick. Sounds good to me. I see him staying with the Titans in 2013

Who would have thought Velasco was good enough to warrant a tender.

Our team is making the right moves so far this offseaon. It's good to know our FO can be competent at times.

Why is amano still on the roster?

Just when I thought we had the bases covered...

Maybe, maybe not. But I know the Titans wanted to keep him. So now we ensure that happens. He provides depth at G, and did well enough at C to start there next year. Velasco was not the issue the with O-line last season.

I saw TE Zach Potter from JAX didn't recieve a tender. That dude is huge and has made a few plays against us, solid hands speed and good blocker. I'm interested.

I know, but I don't see any team knocking down doors wanting his service right now. I actually think he will become a solid player in the next year or 2.

I have no problem with Velasco, matthews and amano cannot play in the nfl. I wonder if Finley of GB gets cut if the titans would have any interest in him? He had a bad year but the guy has talent

Because you don't cut people until you have replacements in place. Just a matter of time, hopefully.
