I'm just wondering why the hell we always stay put and never try to stockpile draft picks, this really bothers me.

I'd rather do it this way and actually, you know, get players. I'm sick of trading picks for picks, you can't do sh** with picks in the future, which you'll probably keep trading etc etc.

I'd rather see us move up and get rid of some picks for good players if anything.

Does the term quality over quantity mean anything? Why would you want a bunch of 4th round mediocre picks that will probably never be anything more than depth. Your starters come from the 1st, 2nd, sometimes 3rd round.

Because our guys don't think about the draft as a business situation.

They get giddy about 1 guy that gave them a boner 4 months back, and run up to the podium ignoring all phone calls- pretty sure of it.

Totally agree, we are just like the Chargers... well maybe slightly better, lol.

But the Chargers got a ton of picks in the Ely Manning for Phillip Rivers trade. I think Merriman ultimately was one of the extra pics they got from that trade.

Dude, you spend a fraction of your time watching games and players and somehow know more about the talent available than a team who does nothing but spend all their time assessing talent, knowing more about what to look for in mechanics, technique and other factors than you or Head On A Swivel will ever know combined. It's always easy to say who to pick when sitting on a couch...

However the constant negativity and slams on the front office, coaching and scouts is getting old. Nobody had what I thought was a fabulous draft...lots of reaches, so let's see what we got and 2-3 yrs from now we can call them idiots. There is no evidence we don't have a jewel or two in this draft class.

Maybe if I didn't get picks right far more than our FO, you'd have a point.

    Til then...
