    We can all dream.

How long do you think it would take us to transform into a 3-4?

How would or LB's and Dlinemen be shifted around?

Anyone have good insight into this?

In other threads the idea of switching to a 3-4 and trying to hire an accompanying coach (wade phillips or rex ryan say for example) have been thrown around.

how would we construct our 3-4?

Keep on dreaming man. Needs to happen though. We could be legit in one year, just like the Texans w/ Wade Phillips.

Draft either Jarvis Jones or Star Lotulelei with our first, i'd prefer Jarvis. I like Star, but I think he'll be picked before us. Mingo and Star are fighting for the #1 spot.

    Sooo 1st: Jarvis Jones 2: OG/C 3: S 4: NT

    ----- Casey/Klug -- 4th Rounder/FA -- Martin/Morgan ----
Jarvis ---------- Ayers ---- McCarthy ---------------Wimbley

Keep Griffin, I think Rex could make him servicable - not worth the money though. Bring in the 3rd round safety to take the starting spot. Wa-lah.. Jarvis, Wimbley, Ayers provided the blitzing. Not perfect, but a solid 1 year change.

I actually went against my core beliefs and thought about this the other day... I'm glad I'm not the only one lol...I guess I'd have to learn to love Rex...he's prolly that kind of guy that you hate, but if he's your coach you love him

I think using the lbs we have now with wimbley standing up is decent enough if we can get a top end NT

But also going the jones route gives us a more defined pass rusher.

Your exactly right. My father is a Jets fan and he loves Ryan (hates Sanchez though).

If Rex had a decent QB and some decent WRs for that QB to throw to, he may have won a Super Bowl.

I called him the epitome of average - and that may still be true. But with an average coach and proper additions, I think we could have a really good team.

I really think Rex could succeed here. He can bring his brother over to be our DC while he's at it too.

If we move to a 3-4, this D-roster as we know it is toast!!

Klug, Morgan, Martin, Marks, basically all of our DL besides Wimbley translate to a DE on a 3-4 team. We'd have to cut over half of these guys (I'm ok with that)

Casey is the only possibility for a Decent NT, but he'd be better at DE, too.

We could have Wimbley and Ayers at OLB...that looks decent.

MLB, we're screwed. Brown is definitely a 4-3 OLB. does not fit with 3-4. Same with Witherspoon.

I'm not following where we would have to cut a bunch of our guys...?

You have to have 34 des... Casey and Martin would be a great start on the outside because they basically play the 43 version of nt... Basically what a 34 DE does.. Klug would be rotational. Morgan might be able to add some weight.

Witherspoon is gone after this season. Probably Marks too.
