Provided his version of a run heavy offense doesn't solely consist of slamming CJ in between the OT's and gives carries to a big back like Micheal Bush I have no problems with that. I just hope that Palmer understands what a screen pass is and how it can be used to defeat blitzes.

I think too many people are prejudging this guy...he's gonna have to work with what we have for the first season at least...NO Quarterback And CHRIS JOHNSON.....hmmm what would any coach plan to do????

The more I listen to Palmer, the more I like the guy. He may be great. May be a flop. But I'm willing to give him a chance to show us what he can or can't do before I start crying sour grapes.

We had 70 more passes last year than run plays and we sucked. What i got from Palmer at the press conference is that 65 plays, 35 runs and 30 passes is an ideal not something that needs to be forced. If we are struggling running the ball we will throw it more.

The idea is to run when we want to run and be balanced. Just throwing it around doesn't win anything especially with a young QB.

He wants to find ways to use Cj better. He really likes Cook and wants to use his talent. WTF is there to complain about?

Palmer is very smart, very cerebral but not a real emotional guy but as OC he doesn't have to be. After the press conference i like the hire more.

Anytime there is someone new, a coach or a player, there is a learrning curve. I was apprehensive at first too, but after the press conference, I felt better about the selection. Hopefully, the learning curve will be short, so, I refuse to be pessimistic.

You're looking at this Run:pass ratio from an awful 'black and white' perspective. Sure we had more passes then runs last year. You don't run the ball too often when you're losing 17-0 against Jacksonville, or 20-0 against Houston, etc. The Titans were a running team under Jeff Fisher. We just sucked so we consistently had to abandon our gameplan to try and catch up. That doesn't mean we were a passing team. Changing this team to a passing offense could net us the same Run:pass ratio as last year, but with different results.

We need to get the right QB and we could have the type of offense the Chargers run.

Pass to Cook and CJ and have Britt as the deep threat. then when the defense is off balance let CJ gash them with a run. Palmer sounds like he is going to use Cook a lot. he could be our Gates.

Kolb would be a nice option. Flynn sounds like he also has potential to compete. If worse comes to worst, and the CBA takes forever to get settled, the organization might keep Young as a last resort and we'd still be in good shape.

If we take care of our defensive needs this off-season we're right back into the hunt. 2 of the top 3 picks need to go defense.

If we don't get Mcnabb then Alex Smith is the best FA QB we could get.

I was talking to a couple of guys yesterday and they think that Rusty Smith will be our starting QB in game one. If that is true it won't matter who our OC is we are screwed.
