    2. Myron Rolle, S, Tennessee Titans

    • Age: 23

    • On-field accomplishments: Lott Trophy finalist, AP third-team All-American as a junior in ’08. 2010 No. 207 overall NFL draft pick.

    • Alma mater, major, GPA: Florida State, exercise science (premed), 3.75. He graduated in 2½ years, then received a master’s in medical anthropology from Oxford.

    • SAT score: 1340

    • Languages: “Just two. Spanish and English. I’m decent (in Spanish).”

    • Off-field/intellectual interests: “Philanthropic medicine. Social equality—I guess that’s more of a human rights issue. ... I love Frank Sinatra. I think I could spit out about 10 of his songs, just (doing) karaoke right now.”

    • If I weren’t a professional athlete, I’d ... “Be a neurosurgeon, but I’d be a traveling neurosurgeon. Practice medicine in the States but take it overseas as well.”

    • Smartest teammate I’ve had: “Christian Ponder, my quarterback at Florida State. We both graduated at the same time, in 2½ years as undergrads.”

1340 SAT? Not that impressive, for a Rhodes scholar, even one from FSU. As an anthropology major, I took two medical anthropology classes in college and they were basically nothing more than liberal brainwashing opinions, one of the teachers started the class with "there is no room for objectivity in this class," verbatim. This guy just needs to stick to academia, and all of the other successes he has had, of which there are so many, but I will say it was bad@$$ he was able to do all he did and still play division one football OBVIOUSLY.

He's an amazing man, probably always will be. I would love to meet him, but he will never be anything close to an outstanding Titan, not to say that it wouldn't be awesome if he was. If Kenny Britt can't focus on the one and only thing that makes him special, I can't expect a guy who has 20 other things that make him special succeeding in the league, although I do realize the absurdity of the comparison. He will succeed, make millions, and do wonderful things, but not in the NFL. Still love ya Rolle, waiting on you KENNY.

If he's so smart, why's he still playing for the Pirates? :brow:

Have to agree. This guy is going to be a millionaire doing something outside of football. And good for him. I applaud the man for balancing a grueling physical challenge with a strong academic accomplishment. I find stories like Myron Rolle fascinating and encouraging.

Who cares how smart he is, he's on the practice squad. I nearly had a better SAT score than him. I'll give this guy a million shots to make the team, but today he's not worth the read.

As a teacher, I can say that test scores measure just a small part of intelligence. Organizational skills, willingness to stick to the task, power of concentration, and a host of other factors are involved. That is the reason no teacher or administration should be evaluated solely on test scores. About the only thing these scores measure is how well one is prepared for that particular test.
